Celebrating International Day of Persons with Disabilities: Tarragona Hosts IN-WORK Project

On the occasion of the International Day of Persons with Disabilities, the City Council of Tarragona is organizing various events to promote a more inclusive society. December 3rd is a significant day dedicated to celebrating the strengths of individuals with disabilities while fostering awareness and education throughout society.

The pilot test of the IN-WORK Project will be presented on November 30th, as it is an important initiative designed to create an inclusive culture by bridging the gap between education and the world of work for people with disabilities. This is achieved through the adoption of work-integrated learning methods, including internships and service learning projects. As part of the IN-WORK project, a 150-hour training course accredited by the Fundació URV will be held, scheduled to run from February to June 2024. A minimum of 14 higher education students will benefit from this experience.

The pilot test has the support of the Fundación ONCE, an organization dedicated to promoting the social inclusion and well-being of people with disabilities. Fundación ONCE is actively involved in initiatives related to accessibility, vocational training, employment, and social integration.

The event is open to students, families, organizations, and companies interested in collaboration, making it a valuable opportunity for all who seek to support and celebrate inclusivity.
